Hi guys, my name is Tom, im 18 years old and currently I own a VW Golf Mk4, its the gti model fitted with the 1.8 20v turbo engine. Had the car for about a year now and getting bored of it. It handles like a boat and FWD doesnt help. Looking into getting a BMW E36 328 sport coupe. Insurance ect isnt a problem as i have a few connections and have a well paid job. What are these like? I know im probably going to get quite a biast opinion as its a BWM forum but any help would be well aprishiated. Also looking into supercharging it after owning the car for a while, the car im looking at has 129k miles and full BMW service history. Seems a really tidy car. Would a supercharger finish the engine off or would getting a engine rebuilt and having the super charger fitted be a better option. Or mabey the supercharged option is crap, i really dont know. any help would be great thanks

also on the last vw forum i visited the majority of people were really helpful but you always get the few dicks that bang on about how im only 18 and its to much power and im going to crash, to be honest im quite a sensiable lad. I do have a blast every now and then but i see cars as more of a hobby and i enjoy owning a nice car as it always gives me something to take car of and take pride over. However im sure the supercharged 328 at 18/19 will cause some moans from people but everyone is entitled to their own opinion

thanks in advance for any helpful replys

Welcome, the 328 is a great motor and I loved mine. They are swift and smooth.

I could hustle mine along but it was a little boat like. Have a bit of a read on nikasil before buying.
