    Just an intro post to say hi and finally registered after reading loads of posts as a guest.

    I bought a "bargain" E46 320D SE a few weeks ago, with a known problem and with the idea of fixing and keeping it.

    So far its cost me a £970 bill and no fix having all the injectors replaced.

    So the first thing I'll probably be upto on here is asking advice so I can get this puppy running on the road 100% Ideally the garage could have saved me the trouble

    Also, never heard of the tubby and swirl flaps issue till I read it all on this site. Unlucky I bought a 2002... *fingers crossed*

    97,500 miles, full service history (services 1,500-2,000 miles ago by prev.owner) - bought for £3k

    Fault is that when you put your foot down the DDE light comes on and it goes into limp. You can "tootle" till you hearts content and get from a-b. When you put your foot down.. DDE says hello.

    Found that injector 3 was stuck solid, so suspect this was the problem. Removed after a bit of upheaval and replaced - problem persisted.

    Garage did a "flow-back?" test on the injectors and said 2 were filling there little bottles up more than the other so they recommended changing all the injectors, which they have....

    Problem persists.

    So far £970 bill. I believe they bought the injectors for £175 each. So thats £700 injectors and £270 labour.......... and no fix.

    The code it was originally bringing up was fuel pressure and glow plugs. Apparently changing the injectors has brought this to the one code - fuel pressure.

    So only thing I can gather from reading threads on here is

    In line fuel pump?
    High Pressure pump?
    DDE module itself...

    erm.... air flow meter? Think I read a post that threw this in as a wild card?

    But all the above was for the tech section, but I have written it here now.. oops.
