    Hello everyone!!!

I had a e36 328 a while back & after 2 years of Subaru ownership I have just purchased a 2001 Y registration 330 ci. I didn't do my research properly though. Its done 104k & needs a service even though the clock say 10k left, also clock showing so thats inspection 1 & brake fluid I think.

After driving it home a few issues happened, yellow oil light comes on for about 10 seconds after engine is running, oil level sensor I think after looking at it on the internet, possible ccv whatever that is, the door rubbers have fell down, noticed he had glued them, obviously not glued them in properly. Think I need a thermostat, on motorway tempature gauge sits on 1/4, in traffic when I test drove it stood solid halfway, also need some decent rubber on there plus the a/c isnt very cold.

I feel a bit stupid as took the guys word for it was just a a/c regas, car was 100% plus he had 100% feedback selling cars so went to see it myself & didnt get it inspected.

Also would like to get a usb connection for the stereo, it looks like I cant very easy as I have no cd changer.

To summarise hope I can fix all these problems relatively easy/cheaply as thats the reason I swapped from subaru to this, love the red leather against the black paintwork so hoping for a bit of luxury cruising rather than driving around like my hair is on fire.

Search function has been great & look forward to getting some help as much as possible & fingers crossed I made the right choice of car!!!

Hi mate. Sorry to hear about the problems you have been having :( still a nice car though so hopefully you sort everything out! And get some photos up!

The only bit I can comment on is the USB connection. Don't be disheartened that you don't have a CD changer, I believe I am right in saying that the majority of E46's had the wire for the CD changer regardless of whether the changer itself was fitted. I have a saloon and the wire is in the cubby hole on the left hand side of the boot (don't know if it is in the same place on the coupe). It has a black plastic clip that you twist and its quite a big panel which folds down. Check in there to see if there is a wire. It should have two connectors on the end. Thats all you need and it plugs into any aftermarket device such as DICE (for iPod/iPhone) or many others out there.

Hmm maybe I was wrong or your just unlucky. There are no wires in the cubby hole, even tucked down the back? And none dangling in the boot or anything? Failing that, someone would need to confirm this as I don't know 100%, but I would think that all of the head units can have the cable plugged in? So you just buy a cable and run it through. But as I said I don't know for sure so you would need to confirm that elsewhere.

Right. I don't have an aux button or anything saying cd either. Just mode. The aux function I am pretty sure only exists on the newer models with a cd player, not the tape like ours. With regards to plugging in the cd changer cable, I would think its a case of plugging it in the back, BUT, I am new to BMW's and it could actually be wired into the canbus... I would do a bit of searching or post a new thread about retrofitting the cd changer cable. I'm sure it must be simple but maybe not.
