    Hello all,

I have found 2 x35d touring cars which I need now with 2 children. My wife hates cars and the thought of spending money on cars so I have to be careful with my budget!

Car 1 is a 2007 335d SE with 48k miles, few toys but no idrive (pre 2009 idrive nothing to write home about I gather?) priced @ £14500

Car 2 is a 2004 (54) 535d M sport with 80K miles, lots of toys but obviously a pre- LCI car (more concerned about the mpg improvements and power than interior changes). Car priced @ £10000

My biggest task will be justifying the purchase so need to consider other factors such as depreciation in 3 years time, road tax and insurance (similar I guess) as well as the obvious maintenance costs etc

I am coming out of a small car so will appreciate the smaller 335d's 'driving feel' but am also aware that the 5 may be an easier drive, the rear of the car will predominantly be used for 2 baby seats/ booster seat. Also, how can I tell if the swirl flap issue has been addressed in the 5 if I take a look at it (other than asking the dealer?).

I do ~17K miles p/a and can't spen more than £15k (closer to £10k to keep my marriage happy!)

Apologies if this covers some previous topics but I am new here and this was the closest topic thread I could find. Your feedback would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Ben

Ben "gerro84" you would be better off posting your question in your own post and not in someone elses welcome thread

Try here General BMW Discussions you might get more answers that way welcome BTW
