Hi people. My name is Chris, (username is a big give away lol) im 32, an i live near southport. I thought seeing as ive been watching the forum an reading up for a while, id make myself known

In the very near future, im looking to purchase a E46 330d.

My brother has the 330ci, and to be honest, i wasnt to keen at first

That was until he let me take it out for half an hour i was blown away.

What a fabulous drive! Comfortable, quiet, performance wasnt too bad either, everything felt tight, and had a quality of build.

At the moment im Driving a Honda Accord Type-R

She's not everyones cup of tea, but she's got it were it counts. surprises quite alot of people

BUT, unfortunately Mr clegg, an Mr Cameron have pushed me out of ownership 2 and a half years an 10k miles later its still an absolute belter, but needs must

We have 2 cars (me an the missus) a work horse shitreon diesel, and the honda. 2 insurances, 2 taxes, 2 mot's, 2 fuel costs etc etc.

Secondly, the missus had a 2 strokes just before xmas (she's perfectly fine now thank god, she's only 33???) but she doesnt like to drive. They way premiums are fuel is going up an up. were just after something abit more economical, well built, kind on the eyes, an of course, i love my cars. So something abit lively to drive, that has abit of poke

This forum i must say is very impressive

Can anyone point me in the right direction for common faults an problems i might expect or to look out for with the 330d?

Im hearing alot of blown turbos? Cracked intake manifolds, and seizing inline fuel pumps (the one under the passenger seat) causing the car not to start when hot?

Are these inherent defects? Or owners not doin maintenance properly. (Pet hate of mine that? what the car needs, it gets... end of :-))

Thanks guys. Hope to be apart of the team soon

    Chris.

Hi and Welcome to the forum, 330d is a great car in my opinion but if you do not drive more than 7k per year then consider the same as yer bro. Either way they are both powerful and refined motors.
