    Hi folks,

What a great forum - quite organised and lots of technical guidance. I have just purchased my first ever BMW, an E38 1997 740I and what a wonderful car she is - all electrics work and engine is absolutely smooth running without any sign of rough idle and starts every time. and WHAT A BEAST.

My previous 'other car' was a 1999 Omega which was a great car to drive - they simply do not build cars like they used to. My 'practical car' is a Vaxhall Astra.

I am rather cluless on many aspects of the '7' and look forward to figuring these out - like parallel M rims for example which look great but what does 8J and 9J mean(??).
    Cheers,
    P.

Hello and welcome to the forum, nice car mate

7J and 8J refer to the width of the rims, in inches
