probably I should have walked away.. but I didn't
Just bought a quite tatty e36 316i from 1995.
I am based in the Netherlands, but am a Brit, hence joining a UK forum.
The car has a boy-racer type exhaust (stainless, lots of noise, perfect condition, should fetch afew quid on ebay) and seems to have a lot of negative camber on the rear wheels, so suspect a lowering job or some sort of tuning add-on suspension kit. Those 2 items will be the first thing to swap out for original - just as soon as it stops snowing enough for me to get out in the street with a jack !
I'm looking forward to improving the car as much as I can. It only cost me 1000 euros - beleive me, that is rediculously cheap in The Netherlands, where a 1992 escort with no APK(MOT) can fetch 500 euros !
At first the heater wasn't working, but that just needed some coolant in the system and a quick bleed.
Next thing is to find some of the struts that keep the bonnet open (or not in my case) - does anyone have a part number for them as I have no clue what they are called in Dutch or German.
Anyway, wish me luck, I'll need it.
excellent looking forum, already found out how to bleed the cooling system here. I'll be a regular visitor. See you around.
