Joined this site just after my 10 mth old bmw was stolen. I needed my fix of bmws to keep my chin up. At last yesterday i got my replacement like for like courtesy of insurers! Im really interested in detailing and refused the supaguard finish this time round due to finances. Can anyone recommend a similar product that i can apply myself. Sorry to be so vague but i am a bit nervous that my motor will be taken again hence the lack of detail so far. Great site.

You can probably buy the Superguard Kit online a lot cheaper than getting it done.

Then you'll have the satisfaction of knowing its done to a good stand and you'll have saved some money.

TBH I would have a look at some of the detailers work here and see what they use....

Personally, I put Collinite 456 on my E91 (two coats) after it was clayed and polished with Meguiars polish... Looks awesome IMHO... Much cheaper and more durable than the Supaguard stuff that was applied when I had mine

After the car was clayed, I used this stuff first - it's a three stage system....

Then finished her off with two coats of this...

Result of all the hard work...

One thing I'll always vouch for is the old swissvax (think I spelt it right? - maybe not) - a very good wax, my car is pretty dirty atm but it still looks really good but there are some serious guys on here and I'm just getting into the detailing too!

Good luck with this one, hope the ones that stole your last one get what's coming to them.

Mate, they're everywhere - I need to spend a few quid on the body work tbh but to the 'naked eye' - it's ok!

Get yourself to some meets, show off the motor!

The fact that we're on here means that we care about our car
