Morning everyone, thought it was about time I signed up here!
Im 22, and im a student from Canterbury, currently driving a 316 coupe

Its a 97 BMW 316 coupe, with a few OEM mods:

    M tech skirts
M tech front and rear ights
    M tech spoiler
    M tech e46 wheels
Factory uprated sound system (harman kardon?)

Being a 1.6 its not going to set any land speed records, but its silly cheap to insure, and returns fairly reasonable MPG.

Possibly thinking of doing a 1.8IS conversion, as its such a clean base car, although im currently thinking it will be just as easy to buy a IS.

welcome, always good to see a new member with pics! and yes it would be cheaper to buy the 1.8! unless you fancy learning something along the way?

    Thanks guys

Well the handy thing is, my dads a mechanic so I can do the conversion myself pretty much, its just wether he wants to take on the project! Thens theres the hassle of changing the logbook over etc etc.

Besides, I would look to upgrade to a car with A/C etc as this one hasnt got it.

how about you buy a 6 cylinder, then you could get you dadto help you when you want more to put a bigger lump in? much more rewarding! unless like i said before you want the experiance, and possible bonding with your dad?

Haha, no bonding needed, weve built 3 minis together and both have little patience, so it will be more of a case of leaving him to do it!

Not looking to move to 6 cylinders just yet, mainly for the runnning costs. Ive heard a 2.5 can be just as efficient as 1.8 if driven well, but I think the 1.8 IS is a good comprimise of performance and efficieny
