    Hi everybody,
I'm new on this board, I don't own a BMW but had lot of buddies who do. I'm need of some informations and this site always come thru google, so it might be the place I need to be

I think you'll found me more often in the BMW ECU Tuning and Standalone Tuning forums.

I'm from the import scene and used to tune (not as a living) some Hondas, Nissans and even work on a Lotus (toyota engine) and an old Corvette. I recently been in touch with some E36 owners who want me to put an eye in their DME.

We'll my first contact with a M3 on a dyno was with a piggyback (Powermod), I didn't want to cut wires or mess with the harness so I made a male/female harness to insert between the engine & the DME.
The result was ok, but I found that it was to expensive for such a thing : 900€ and you must add dyno time and labor.

Some bmw experts/tuners in here are just copying bin files to chip , sometimes it does wonders, but often it just does little effect (no enough imo).

If you guys know a little about Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, you know that there are tons of hardware/software, free, open or commercial.

So I though that it would be the same in the BMW community but it seems to be a very sensitive case : it's all about the DME.

In order to understand what is involved in the process I'm trying to 'learn' with the Motronic 3.3 and after move on the Siemens MSS50.

I made a post on what I'm trying to do but it look like a waste :

Is there anything in the bmw world that look like pgmfi.org for Honda ?
