    Hi guys,

Well my E46 330d that I bought in the summer turned out to be a complete disaster - I won't bother boring you with the catalogue of woe, but suffice to say there was a long list of problems, major question marks over the service history and the way the car had been looked after (or rather, not been looked after). So I decided to cut my losses and part ex it against something else. So if anyone is now the owner of VCZ5688, I wish you all the best and hope you have deep pockets!

So anyway just before Xmas I found a 2006 E90 320i SE in graphite grey which ticked all the boxes for me - great condition, and so far so good after 2,000 miles, no problems at all, so my faith in BMW is restored - one company owner so the mileage is bit higher than average, but I don't do many miles so not a huge problem for me, and the history shows its been well looked after.

Nice motor Saab, do you find the E46 and E90 like chalk and cheese?

Thanks SlowTech. Yes they couldn't be more different. Obviously a 330d and a 320i are a very different proposition in any circumstances, and particularly in this case as the E46 was an auto and the E90 is manual. I've pretty limited experience but I suppose my impression is that the E46 is probably more fun to drive, and the E90 much more of a refined proposition.
