Hi, my name is Sean, I'm a car nut, not a boy racer, I'm into all sorts of machineries, but I don't know much about any...

And my car, coz I'm 19, which is a miserable age... many thanks to our respectable insurers, I was forced to move about using an e36 316i, although I was dying for the brilliant engine in the 318is... still, my premium was way more expensive than my car, as Mr Insurance was pretty sure that my car will become history and end up in a recycle box any minute this year...

I chose Beemer plainly for its balanced rear wheel drive chassis(something to shout about), I enjoy every trip with my beemer, even the engine is a bit let down. In fact when i was choosing my first car, I was so stuck with this RWD thing, I even decided if I cannot get a set of wheels with the busy end behind me, I would take my shoes as a form of transport, or go to anywhere on my hands and knees, if necessary...

    Cheers!

Hi and welcome to bfuk!! The 316's arnt that bad. A good starter for someone of your age. The 318is however are v nice

give it a year or so, build up your NCB and your BMW knowledge and a 318is will be an option!

    Thanks guys!
I know i should be satisfied about my car, it's briiliiant in every way, especially when i take account that i spent only £800 to get my hands on it....all of my mates are charging around in Saxos and fiestas, it's making me feel a bit sad everytime i say that i have a beemer, now i just tell everyone the beemer is mum's and I'm sharing her punto :> .
Still it's such a great pleasure to be a beemer owner knowing my machine with its rwd chassis eats corners for lunch. i can't forget how much tear, blood and sweat was shed when i was looking for the right car. It's sad to see there are so few rwd cars on the streets, maybe because it's my testosterone doing its job, now it's even telling me that each cylinder in the engine should have 4 valves... just have a laugh...

Good to have another young Beema driver on board (who isn't a boy racer!)

Don't worry about insurance - it comes down eventually... Also, Bimmerforums UK has a scheme set up with Adrian Flux... Mention you're a member and you can get a discount.

Im 19 and have a 1996 bmw 316i the engine isnt that bad it packs enough of a punch to beat the 1.3 saxos and fiestas.

Im proud to own it, plus i am more concerned with the apperance and quality of the car as apposed to a citreon saxo vtr!
