    Hi all

i have just bought a 320i touring, E36 on an M plate and my N/S front indicator has fallen out and smashed some where!!! Doh!! I have back tracked and tried to find it but to no avail!! I have ordered some new clear lenses but need to know if these come with everything I need or will I need parts from the lost lense??

any info or a broken down pic of the assembly would be greatly appreciated.

    many thanks in advance

    James

Hi BMWBadger and welcome to the forum,
The indicators falling out can be a common problem if they aren't fitted back in correctly or the clip is getting weak, The new indicator should come with a bulb holder pictured here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...68&hg=63&fg=10

Uh oh, this could mean another strip down Ronnie

    Firstly... Welcome to the forum

You will need to ensure that you add orange bulbs otherwise your new purchase will flash white. Some aftermarkets lenses come with them others do not. Ask before leaving the shop to avoid disappointment.

They can be bit of a biatch to replace at times, have you looked at the side that has fallen out?

There is a two stage clip on the indicator that slides on to the headlight. You may find that the clip housing on your headlight is broken hence the loss of your indicator. This is quite common as they seem to be quite fragile.

By two stage clip i mean, you'll push your new indicator lense on and hear a click, that's only the first stage. You need to make sure it clicks a second time and it can be quite awkward.

If you need photo's then let me know

I had a look at the lense the first time it popped out and could see nice clean plastic on the lense where I am assuming something had snapped off!! do you have pics of what should be there on the car not the lense so I can have a look??

    Kind regards
