    Welcome, e60 530D, Nice,,,,,,,,,,,,

whats the milage and if i can help let me know as i have an e60 530D and done lots to her

If you want your swirl flaps done i am your man, cheeper then your local garage but you would have to travel to me but its not far, just up the M4 and is it high milage. Also whats the service history like. i could give you a list of stuff to do to the car to put a smile on its face but leave that for now......

Swirl flaps is a must, they should be the larger ones as i just done a 2004 530d but if you get them get both sets and get them from bmw land as you can send the set you dont use back for a refund, thats what i do....

EGR thermostate, would be an idea to change that, and give it a little service. Give the egr a clean and the inlet manifold a de-gunge as well

"O",,,, feel free to put up some picks and welcome to the forum..

    Hello Ragtop steve

Thanks for all the info, and i would be interested in this list you speak of
It's done 108000 miles with a full service history,
I have already booked a local bmw specialist to do the flaps sorry mate, if i had known of you first the job would have been yours.

I have seen the posts about cleaning the manifold and the egr so will give that a go when i have time.
You said about the EGR thermostat??

My next job will be the auto trans fluid as this seems to be a must as well.

    Cheers

    Leigh

Not to worry about the flaps, i have done 4 now including my own so getting a dab hand at it,,,,,,

If your at the garage you will see how cloged up it will be, as for the gear box, it will need a new oil pan and filter unless your planning on just dropping the oil, i would recomend replacing the pan and filter unless you can get the filter from BMW, I will ask my mate in the morning...... plus he looks after me....BMW Parts Department,,,, Resault.

You will need a new Gasket, and sump plug as well, if your doing that you might as well change the rear diff oil as well, make it worth while jacking the car up and you wont have to worry about it all when it gets to about 150k

Its a good idea to change the engine oil every 6k, there is no crank case breather filter but its worth changing the crank case housing at that milage as there is a little filter in there and it more then likely hasent been removed from the car since new. And get a pipercross air filter

As for the egr thermostate, check your running tempreture, if its a little low then its worth changing that as well

its item 1 on hear and takes about 15 mins to change
