My name is Rudi and I have recently upgraded my motor vehicle of choice (via method of a straight swap) to an E36 316i Compact.
It's a P-reg ('97) 1.6 (M43B16) with only 67,000 miles, genuine!
Currently it is fairly standard, except for the 6x9 speakers that the previous owner put in the parcel shelf along with some tint film on the rear side windows, as well as the K&N panel filter.
Two problems with it so far: central locking on the driver's door does not work, and the radiator fan does not kick in at low speed - so it over heats in stop-and-go traffic unless I turn the air-con on. And some faded paint on the wings. And some heat-induced cracking of paint on the bonnet, if that makes sense.
Never was a fan of BMWs before, as the first one I drove was a dodgey E30 with a 325 lump and a welded diff, which put me off, but I am converted, so to speak.
