    hello to all.
i currently have an e36 m3 evo coupe that im turning into a road legal trackday/drag monster.
my car is going to hopefully be fitted with a 6.3 chevrolet ls3 engine then modified to over 500bhp.the car is going to be fully stripped and im aiming for a weight of about 1050kg(minus driver and fuel).im allowing myself a fair few years to do the project as im doing most of the work myself.the car is internally stripped and all the exhaust/prop is off and hopefully over the next 2 weeks the engine and gearbox will be out and on sale as a full m3 evo conversion for someone to fit to their e36(engine/box/wiring/exhaust/rad/oil coller/all ancillaries ect ect) so if anyone is interested drop me a pm.

will be making a project diary up with pics in due course.

look forward to me posting lots of silly questions regarding engine fitments/cutting bodywork ect

    regards rich

    Mega plans!

Whats the engine putting out standard?

Will you have much to gain before you hit 500bhp?

The standard engine is 430bhp and 424lbft and is a good 50kg all in lighter than the m3 evo engine plus shed loads more torque.will have to have custom headers on first fit as standard ones won't clear the engine mounts plus the sump has to be modified to clear the subframe.with a cam upgrade and full exhaust with race cats and headers and software it should be about 500bhp.
Was originally going to get an e46 m3 engine and supercharge it but would be about £10k more expensive and no faster

Hi beastofackworth and welcome to Bimmerforums UK, your project sounds great and I'll be sure to keep a eye on it's progress .

How much is the engine going to set you back and where you getting one from?
