Hi there, I have posted a few times on this forum but never really took the time to introduce myself!

I'm almost 26 and am selling a 318is which has served me well for 2 years after a 318i saloon for nearly another 2. Both have been solid as a rock!

So I have decided to upgrade to an E46 with more power and have put a deposit down on this monster 330ci for just £3000:

It has 112k miles on the clock, a fair service history (my others had full), leathers, HK Audio etc, but the reason for its low price is that the body work needs some TLC! It has more than its fair share of minor dents and scratches as well as a little paint bubbling on a front arch so it's a bit tatty. Also alloys are well scuffed, the bonnet badge has faded and part of a wing mirror needs replacing.

Now I'm no expert, I took a punt as the garage said for about £500 I could get the body work up to scratch. Even if it's more than that it'll be still a bargain I hope as this was originally a £30k car! I can pick up cheap spares to fix the badge and mirror which they perhaps couldn't be bothered to do.

Also I went for a 330ci as the published MPG is the same for all the 6 pot engines near enough and I don't do too many miles. I do hope I have made the right choice!

(If anyone is looking for a well looked after 318is in the midlands PM me)

But I'd love to get this 330 back to its best, see how it does on a rolling road and maybe some track days!

    Welcome to the forum.
Sounds a good price to me, if it's just cosmetic then you have a bargain, the 330 is a great engine, I'm sure you'll have many hours of pleasurable driving.
How about you post up in the members project section then we can view the progress.

Welcome to the forum! And what a great price for that car!

Budget for a new front arch at about £100 for insurance approved or £190 genuine BMW - plus painting costs. The front arches on these at our age are notorious and a repair at approx £200 will only hold back the rust for a while.
E46 325ci - almost permanantly broken but still the best car I have owned!

Hmm, as well as the front arch, a rear arch and bumper has been scraped/dented/cracked so I guess that'll be another £250+. Then there are a nuber of dings/small dents and deepish scratches so perhaps another £200 plus.

The aircon is broke but it was recently fixed/serviced so the garage is arranging to get that done under warranty first, which should hopefully save me doing it!

When I get it I'll post some more pics, get a quote from a body repair shop and have my local specialist look under the hood.

It does seem as if the previous owner has been a litle careless with the exterior at least, I just hope the slight gap in recorded service history a few years ago won't mean mechanical issues. No risk no reward hey, will checkout the project section!

    Hi Bud,

It was Coventry but not ebay, from trade through Auto Trader. It could still be the same one though!

Sure, If you can send me some details that would be great as I will have to get some ideas on price initially. I am down the Birmingham Road so Burton Farm is just around the corner! In fact I think a friend of mine's family owns the land there!

I had a 330ci X plate....fantastic car. Missed it when it went but keep it well serviced and that 3 litre lump shall give great performance. Is it auto or man?
