    As above, it's largely down to dealer descretion. If it was done at the right time and the right things were done then it is within their guidelines. Having said that, I very much doubt they'd accept a car that had rarely been back to bmw. My local dealer insists on full BMW history - though I'm hoping to make the 5k before my next oil inspecion last until after April when the warranty runs out, I can live without paying 220 quid for an oil change.

    One question though; why on earth did you buy a car from a main dealer if you intend to sell it soon? The depreciation will be huge being as you'll have paid way above market value for the car to begin with (My current car, an 03 320d was from a main dealer, I've resolved to keep it at least another 18 months because I can't live with taking it back to them knowing I'll have lost about 4k)

    4.0 High Output Jeep Cherokee for playing...200bhp, 1400kg..faster than the bimmer

    well I *was* bmw driving champion lol. 4 months! best I start again...

    Exactly what BMW Said.
    If service stamp is not a BMW one they check to make sure parts used and procedure has been followed otherwise they cannot offer the warranty when selling an approved used BMW
    They PDI them before sale and not until all criteria has been met do they release for sale
    Half happy with answer but when I come to sell we'll see what the buyer has to say

    To be honest that's the answer to expect, but its means nothing really. Its only 1 service and I seriously doubt that BMW chased up the garage to make enquiries. The dealer is most likely to have given the car the car a once over prior to presenting it on the forecourt with any bit & bobs needed taken care of.

    Following on from many people complaining about being restricted to dealers for servicing and being financially raped in broad daylight in order to keep warranties in tact some years ago (not sure if it made it as far as T.V etc) .... It is now the case, that onwers have the legal right to have their car serviced at other than a main dealer but can keep the warranty in tact provided;

    - garage is VAT registered
    - garage uses genuine manufacturer's parts
    - garage carries out the work in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines/service schedule.

    I agree entirely but I do prefer the shiny stamp in my book!
    In reality though, a full Inspection 2, unlikely to have another for 60k keeping it tip top condition, 15k till next oil service all for measly sum of £240
    In my eyes not much more than an independant!
