    Good evening,

Just thought I would introduce myself before I embrace the world of the BMW. My wife has a Mini - but the time has come for me to sell my previous car (Vauxhall Zafira) and I have fallen for a 3 Series Tourer.

We pull a caravan so my desired car is a 320d Tourer. I have seen a few around and based on what I can afford I will be starting the BMW ladder on an 06/56 plate (I have private so that doesn't really matter).

There seems to be some great deals out there and some low mileage cars.

Ideally I would like an M Sport - but there are not many about so it will probably be an SE (maybe with a few extras if the previous owner had them).

If anyone can answer the following:

With an 06 Tourer what is the E number?

    and

Is there anything I should be looking out for?

So there we are - good evening everyone.

    Best wishes

    Gareth

Welcome along, your Touring should be an E91.
Clear your heads and get ready to run.

    hi there

Have you done any research on the pulling power of a 320d ??

Do you really think a 320d has enough under the bonnet to pull a caravan, i personally would go for a 6 cylinder engine ie 330d now thats got the power you need and wont put extra strain on the engine etc

but BMW lovely cars you wont want to change after own one im sure

    good luck with the purchase

    Hi Guys,

That's brilliant. My caravan is only a Ranger 440/4. The brother in law has a 320M Sport and it pulls (I think he said it was 177Bhp).

Not sure what the 06 is - I wonder if anyone here has a pdf version of the original brochure. Time for Google methinks.

Thanks for the E number and the welcome. I'll let you all now how I get on.

Yes. The E91 is the tourer. Plenty of information on Google - I just came here all excited before actually firing up the search. LOL.

Just read a nice review here:
