@rob im 19 mate so onsurance for me on lets say a 323 would be around the 2000 mark, give or take a few hundred :. Also as trower also mentioned i wouldnt even think about the 4 pot e46 they just dont sound like bmws . And yes my aim is to get either 325 or 330, just have to wait and see how things go

Have you thought about something like a 325 E36 mate? Even if you keep that for a year to get a ncb then look at the E46? you will probably get told the E36 are shit aswell but thats just bollocks if you get a decent car thats been looked after then you should be fine with it like you say not everyone has the money to be stuck up and say anything below a 3.0 is shit. Its not just the insurance you need to look at aswell its the petrol costs for running a 3 liter, Go with your instincts and not be bullied into what others say.

Yer like rob said mate just go with what you want to get and what you need, being a student you don't need a 3 litre Beemer seriously your only 19 you would be really happy even with a 320, just ring the insurance company with a few number plates of different litre bmw's see what you can get then say for example you was looking for a 320 upto a 325 and you see a really nice looked after 323 then get it and also like rob said just get a few ncb under your belt then go for the 3 litres and that well then you can get an m3 why get a 330 when you can get an m3 ay

    Iv had

2001 black astra mk4 sxi 1.8 16v had that for just over a year, Insurance was £1200 a year ncb
1999 black bmw E36 318is coupe had that for 2 years, Insurance was £750 a year 1 ncb
2005 silver vauxhall astra mk5 2.0 turbo sri had that for 6 months, Insurance was £1100 a year 2 years ncb (my bmw was off the road for about a year while i was unemployed)
2002 arden blue vauxhall zafira GSI 2.0 turbo had that for about 4 months, Insurance was £890 a year 3 years ncb
2001 silver bmw E46 325ci iv had this for 1 week and 1 day Insurance is £650 a year 3 years ncb

If i got the 330ci that would be £760 a year but the extra few bhp wasnt worth the extra price personally, If i had the money i would skip the pointless 330 and get a proper M3 I know what your saying about cars but like we all know not every kid is Richie Richie we cant all have quick flash bmws

Amen to that, with my 2003 1.4 clio the insurance is £1400 aint too good for a 1.4... and to think my old man can have a E60 M5 with insurance only at £600 makes me jealous
