Hi everyone, my name is Lewis, I'm from Hampshire, I am 22 and have just bought my first BMW, a '97 318is coupe for £500, it has seen better days in terms of general condition, and has covered almost 180K, but it seems mechanically sound, and still drives very nicely and I think it is a good starting point for me, as it is also my first RWD car.

I don't know a lot about BMW's so will probably do a lot of searching and possibly ask very simple questions before I actually contribute anything to the forum, but I'll learn as fast as I can, as I really enjoy driving the car and it handles very well (just had 2 vectras, and before that a long tedious string of little hatches, with a couple of VW flavoured highlights, and some real sheds in there too, I have tried diesel power, I dislike it)

I have attached an image of the little E36 I now have on my drive.

My plans are for a start to get into an MOT centre and see what needs attention, there are various teething issues I need to deal with for example the driver's window doesn't rise when I close the door, and the previous owner has fitted a frankly shit air intake get up with a sensor just hanging from it, which I am going to post about over in tech talk!

There are other things too, but I will save them for the relavant sections.

    Thanks for replies!
