    Hi there...

not long sold my moddied scoob. And no looking for a fun car to look after.

    im torn to a M3 E36 convertable.

plenty on pistonheads to look at..but all avertise as mint and so on..

so what am i looking out for ?

should high mileage put me off if its got history?
should suspension mods put me off. is 30mm too low to lower or ok. ?
vanos probs and how can i tell if they are at fault.

i keep going back to the below car on pistonheads.

    BMW : Mint M3 3.2 Evo Vert

    anybody know of it?

im in essex and i hav 2 bmw tuners near to me one in harlow and one in chelmsford. do they have good reveiws?

any help to get me into a nice M3 would be grate.....

    cheers.
    simon.

Hi Simon welcome to the forum fellow essex man. That one looks a smart example. Alot of m3's you see for sale say they've had the vanos changed, i would defo ask for paperwork proof if they have.
One thing that can be worth doing is if its had big work done such as vanos then ask what dealer did the work then go away and contact the dealer with the reg plate to ensure it was done.

    cheers for the reply guys.

the M3 in question has done 107k but as stated has been looked after by a main dealer and then by an independant called Iridium Engineering.

The rims are as stated 18" staggered BBS LM alloys with fresh 255 rear and 225 front tyres. polybushed all round.

it did have a dyno graph showing 327bhp by alan jeffery in plymouth who are well known in the subaru tunning game but thats now been taken off the add?

just dont want to get my fingers burnt when buying one chaps.......

with that mileage, stated history its worth a drive out to see it in person.its had a remap or chip to get 327 on the rolling road thats a good figure it cost me a fortune to get mine upto 338.7bhp (had to put the point in haha) also you can always get him down on the asking price a big wad of cash in there face usualy gets them down a bit.
