    Hi!

Just got myself an E39 530D, so thought I had better find somewhere to ask all those questions you have with a new car.. and possibly help some others with my knowledge from a long time driving slightly different cars.. Mind you all of those tend to be old mechanical beasts not all this modern computer stuff

So.. quick intro.. Parents are farmers in Wiltshire (so that covers good knowledge of how to fix things with a hammer..), but not enough money in farming to support me too these days, so got a job working at TRL - Transport Research Laboratory as was. Have tended to collect various vehicles over my time.. from a 1927 Clyno (one of only 2 of this model known to exist) through Triumph Stag, a number of Range / Land Rovers (including one 6x6 Land Rover) Rolls Silver Shadow, Audi quattro turbo, Subaru STi wagon (nicely 'tweaked'). As you can see.. my interests are wide ranging!

Well that's a bit about me.. ohh yes and the user name?? Well my favourite drink of course!

    Neil

    Thanks guys!

Those aren't cars I've HAD they are cars I HAVE.. along with a few others! I am a good example of the saying "Junk will expand to fill all available space" and what with the family farm and all those empty barns..... The list of what has been and gone is even more comprehensive I will find a few pics when I get a moment!

Matthew, Thanks for that offer... I may take you up on it sometime. Normal electronics are fine with me - installing electric mirrors/windows/central locking on one of the Range Rovers, wiring up more spot lights to the van (Oh yes.. that's another one - LDV 400 van with numerous lights on the roof.. I like to see where I am going!) all that kind of stuff fine, but one you start to get into computers (on cars at least) I run out of ideas!
