    Hi all, New boy here

I have had seven BMWs in all ranging from a 2002 tii to a 750iL.

Now I have just acquired my very first diesel, a 330d M sport with 70k on it. I must confess to being impressed. I have so far cleaned the car inside and out to a very high standard, changed the breather to a vortex type, degunged the EGR, fixed a reverse sensor problem, I now have three spares if anyone is in need.

Today I sucked out the oil and put in 5 litres of sacrificial oil ran the engine for 25 minutes, sucked out ALL the cheap oil and added 6 litres Mobil 1 0-40 and a new Bosch filter.

A slight worry is I could not find a place for the washer that came with the filter,. I replaced the O ring, cleaned out the filter casing and fitted the new filter over the plastic spindle. The 330 was built in December 2001. Does anyone know if there is a place for this metal washer?? I have run the engine and topped up. I cannot see any leaks.

Ah, of course... Doh sump plug!! Thanks Steve 23002!
Well, I am a professional photographer so I suppose I should really treat you all to a couple of shots. just the engine bay mind, the bonnet is going to get a paint job to rid it of all the stone chips, (it was raining when I went to buy it)
