    Hi,

New to the site. Got a stock 330ci M Sport with manual box.

Here's the question - replace it with an M3 or modify?

HI and welcome to the forum Scotland

They are a very nice car as it is in my opinion.....
but I would say it would be infinately cheaper to replace it with an M3 with prices as they are and use that as a base.

It is cheaper to buy an M3 but you'll have much more fun modding your car

What you need to find out is how much power can really be gained from your motor and how much would it cost. Then compare the power to costs to buying an M3 and you'll have your answer

Sorry my first post was a bit blunt. Getting a 330 up to M3 performance levels would be a bit of a challenge. A supercharger is the obvious method to see well over 300bhp for around the £3k mark.

Your 330 is gorgeous and I would understand spending the money on it! The 335 suggestion was a good one as well. Anyone here driven one? I was offered the keys to one the other day but was a little concerned about stacking it in the rain!

Thanks. £3k for a supercharger conversion? That's not bad and sounds much more fun than a stock M3!

A reckon a 335 might be a bit out of the price range at the moment, but a very interesting thought! TBH, if I was going to the hassle (and risk) of selling I'd probably go with the M3, just from a raw power point of view.

The M3s do seem to be falling in price pretty quickly but then my 330 probably is too! I've no idea what its worth now.

Next silly question is - I take it I'd get more cash selling it in the summer so should probably hang onto it until the weather improves a bit?!
