Got my first BMW 3 weeks ago and am loving it. It's a 97 E38 740iL. Have already done the ipod through the tape outputs mod and had the Alpina Classic 19" wheels refurbished and powder coated chrome. They look great. Changed the pollen filters and air filter to a K&N.

I drive about 500 miles a week so I wanted something reliable and comfortable with cruise control and quiet. Am managing to get about 28mpg on the motorway so am chuffed with that. Not bad for a 4.4 litre V8.

I am not afraid of a spanner so intend on doing a lot of the easy stuff myself.
    Regards

Yeah V8 seems mad but I get tax relief on the mileage so not so bad. I am only getting slightly less mpg on the motorway than my 2 litre Honda so not all bad. I may LPG it. Going to run it for a short while first to make sure it is a good un.
