Hi person who is reading these words! I have had an ongoing issue with my e36 m3 conv which was driving me mad. The a pillar roof leak. It was only on one side, the drivers side where the a pillar meets the roof ie. Top right hand join. Scoured the web for advice and only found one guy on you tube who shows you how to re glue the rubber seal that runs along the front of the roof itself and joins the top of the roof. Mine looked fine so ruled that out. Bmw wanted 150 odd quid for a new door rubber so screw that! I have now fixed it completly which took about a minute and ten pounds! I bought some self adhesive roof flashing tape which is for household use. I then used a scalpel to cut a piece exactly the same shape as the rubber on the top of the a pillar, where the glass, roof and windscreen meet. Hey presto, no more leak! Hope this helps some of you. My car is now perfect, not damp and horrible and a nice place to be, hope yours is too after this advice.

    Hi deadsmooth,
Thanks for taking the time to share! Where did you get the roof flashing from? I've been looking for a reliable way of stopping my A pillar leaks for over a year now.

    Cheers
    Grant

Hi guys, sorry I'm late getting back to you. I will post some pics soon for you guys to see what I've done, I'm thinking about making these seals available to everyone to buy on eBay so it's as simple as just putting them in place. How does everyone feel about this? A good idea or waste of time?

    Deadsmooth,

If you were selling them I'd definitely buy some!!!

What did you use exactly? Did it have bitumen in it? Could imagine that would get messy if it did.

    Thanks

    Grant.
