just wanted to introduce myself, I'm new to the e36 I picked mine up last weekend and I am thrilled to pieces with it. I'm also a new dad; my first is a little boy who was born on Thursday so when I get half an hour I am covertly using my paternity leave to do a couple of little mods
Thanks to a large auction site and some disposable cash I have l driven my way through some the second-hand-market's finest from the Honda Prelude 2.2 V tech to the 1988 Porsche 944 S (£650) a 1989 E30 318, a 1991 E34 520i, E34 525i and my first E36. It is better than all of them. It cost £900, it's a 1995 328i coupe, dark blue, 140K on the clock, a week's MOT left and no tax when I got it. Despite the the facts I took it for a test drive and it felt solid, stable, punchy and nimble and I was smiling from ear-to-ear; it is such a fun car to drive. I got it booked in for Inspection 1 & Mot and it passed with no advisories-it was dead chuffed. Not too good to be true though it needs the trailing arm bushes and the o/s/r wheel bearing done too-a small price to pay in my opinion to get a beautifully handling car.
Since then I got the V5, taxed it, washed it several times and cleaned the inside. I bought a hand held steamer just before all the snow so couldn't use it but I got chance today and steamed°reased the engine bay and the front seats and carpets. I also replaced the gear lever and handbrake gaiter with new leather (new gearlever and handbrake handle arriving tomorrow).
So that's me and my car, I look forward to contributing to the forum.
