Howdy people....Im not normally into BMW,s but i purchased an old 1997 328 coupe for my girlfriend...i own a Jag, but have found myself driving this BM around as its kinda brought out the the man in me! Its a manual and although its high in miles still goes like a good un! It does have a problem however...when changing gear at around 3000rpm the engine continues to rev when ive put the clutch in and taken my foot off the throttle...making me look like i cant drive and very annoying! Any ideas?
Also since buying this car i am now torn between buying a M BMW.
Thoughts are E46 M3 possibly with SMG (any good?) Or a 2001 M5 that somebody is selling....Which to go for? All advice welcome...come on guys, make me sell my lovely Jag (its my 4th XJ) and convert me...Cheers Gav..

    Welcome mate
If you can get the M5, I'd go for the M5 every time

i had sort of the same problem with my E36 and it turned out to be the plastic cover that covers the wires under the dash,it kept catching the throttle cable which was quite annoying when you are sat at traffic lights at 3000rpm trying to move the thing out of the way i ended up just cutting a bit of it off and its been fine ever since
