Hi Bimmer Forum members, I'm new to this forum and have to admit to having a Ford not a BMW. I have a Mk2 Escort powered by an M44 engine. I have plans to free more power from the unit (don't start talking about a 6 cylinder motor, they are too heavy and upset the balance and handling of a light car like mine). I think I am going to go down the forced induction route, undecided on turbo or supercharger yet (still doing my homework - hence membership to the forum). My main issue at the moment is finding suppliers who supply performance parts (forced induction cams, 3.0 M3 flywheels, pistons, conrods etc) for M44 engines so any suggestions would be appreciated.

    See you around the forum.

    Cheers

    Neil

Sounds like FUN, last Mk2 escort I owned was a 1600 Sport back in the mid 80's.

Here is the only pic I have at the moment, only had the car a couple of weeks. Sorry for the size but it's the one from the for sale advert on Pistonheads. It goes ok but needs more grunt. I'm aiming to make it into a nice balanced track car i.e. good handling, braking and adequate grunt to go quick but not too much that I'm wasting it all through wheelspin etc.
