    Hi all,

I've recently inherited a BMW 325i Tourer, Black, Black leather interior (1986). Unfortunately, it's just failed the MOT!!!

    1. Exhaust emissions hydrocarbon excessive.
    2. front windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid.
    3. offside track rod end ball joint has excessive play

Being a bit of a noob when it comes to getting greasy...does anybody know roughly what problem 1 could be. Also, what might the cost of all this work be?

    Much appreciated

    Will

    Hi Mate,

You should post tech q's in the relevant part of the forum, hence why you've been getting no replys....

    1. Usually a exhaust oxygen sensor or similar. It's worth getting the fault codes read at a BMW garage, the 20 quid that'll cost may save you a fortune in mis-diagnosed problems.

    2. I had that, £3 washer valve from BMW in my case. But washer components are all pretty cheap.

    3. That'll be pricier, budget 100 - 250 depending on who sources the bits and does the work.

As I was new round these parts I thought it best I introduce myself first. Cheers for the info though.
