    Please please help.

I'm totally new to this kind of site but need some help.

I have a 2004 320d e46. 130k. Black smoke appeared on acceleration and a loss of power around 2000 revs. The fuel consumption has reduced a lot, there is also a strong fume smell around the car. The car has always been serviced regularly. I noticed that if I unplug the MAF filter whilst it's slower the smoking and hesitation stops....great I thought so a new bosch air flow meter was fitted,...no difference at all.

I was hoping someone out there may of had the same problem. Please forgive me as I'm not a mechanic just can't afford to pay BMW rates at the moment.

    Thanks

    Billy

    Rubbish!

Clean the EGR valve, MAP sensor and replace the vacuum hoses, then get it hooked up on INPA and see how the injector are behaving

It boils my blood when people say "its your turbo mate"... fecking clueless

I have cleaned the EGR.. haven't a clue where the MAP sensor is !! It just seems really strange that when I attach the MAP sensor it seems to over fuel and drink diesel along with plenty of black smoke. Disconnet it no smoke, no hesitation, no fuel issues !!!.

Thanks for your response I was hoping it wasn't the turbo
