Any how, its been a while now since t'early days of messing with Riley Elves, Mini coopers, Mg midgets, and friends' bond bugs, and other bodge-ups.
Now the kids have grown and flown, I finally found time and a few pence to get back to a straight six. Its all me dad's fault, I mean he taught me to drive in a Triumph 2000 going to college everyday for a year. Even the obligatory 5 lessons (thanks Jeff), were in the instructors personal Gold coloured Ford Cortina 1600E (lotus).

I used to have various Minis, Mg Midget and Morris Marina 1.8TC (MGB engine - yummy, pram type suspension - yuck).
Once in Frogland, I drove various company cars mostly renault 21s, Citroen BXs magic carpet sick generators.
I lived in the USA for a while, so drove (? do they really) straight lines in 4litre slurpers, you couldn't here the engine, just the reservoir emptying).
So now my pride and joy is a bog standard 1994 e36 325i saloon with 112,000 KILOMETERS, ~ 70k miles.
Ext and interieur practically untouched, and engine as smooth as can be. Needs a few things doing to it, roof headlining is trying to stop me see , and there's a transmission whine which disappears when depressing the clutch, so no doubt 1st job is to check if there's any oil in the gearbox, and go to see a nexpert. Doesn't bother me, at this mileage the car will probably outlast me, so I'll invest a bit to get her top notch.
e36's seem so much stronger and well built compared to today's series 3's
Will paint bottom skirts (currently black - ugh), do roof headlining, sort out whining, change alloys (existing are really excellent condition, just not girl pullers), dolly up the few chips here and there, put on a discrete rear spolier, and ... enjoy
