Right well hello guys im johnathan and since iv passed my test all iv ever owned is Peugeot iv had 3 in total a 106 a 306 and my last one being 207 which has just been recently written off due to some one deciding to use it as a brake!! so as you can imagine im not all clued up an bimmers the closest iv been to them is detailling them and my dads old e34 518i. So what brings me here? well atm i have got a hire car and its a brand spanking new vauxhall insignia it has plenty of grunt and is quite a nice crusier. And now i think its time for me to go away from the route of french hot hatch to something more refined but yet reasonible for a country side blast from time to time but it must be a diesel! So iv been looking at a few 320d e46 as they are fairly modern looking and look great with a few subtle oem modification. And im led to believe around 150bhp? Fairly reasonible on insurance too to be fair at £850 fully comp no excess the 207 was around £600 so not much of a massive increase which suprised me. would love an m sport varient but i darent look at insurance on them!
So as ever like every good newbie iv got a couple of questions! it would appear that my price range of £3-4k maybe 5 at a push is a bit ambitious really as it would appear most around the £3-4K mark are quite high millage at around 130K+ now although thats nothing on a diesel its mainly general wear and tare things im more conceraned about so what would you consider reasonible mileage for my price range before things start going expensive and what are the dervs like to live with, tune and reapair as i am a very confident self taught mechanic (you need to be to own peugeots) :hihi and im not afraid to get my hands dirty!
My first work horse
Here was my old 306 and the new 207 when id just bought it
Here is what the 207 ended up looking like
Then after it was written off
Dont worry if i end up with a bmw i wont be going down the routes i did with the pugs il prob end up going down a cleaned oem+ look maybe even darken it down and handling!
Cheers guys
