Evening all, looks like u lot have it & finally ive caught it too, got meself a 320d touring 2 weeks ago.
New to BMW but loving it already, even if BMW could stand for Bleeds My Wallet (dry)!! Never done much on cars but after building me own house, needed a new hobby! Problem is, think im getting addicted lol.
Been reading tons on t'internet last 2 weeks, esp on here (top top site!!!) Donation on its way to u after writing this post lads, the sites saved me that & more easily already.
Finally had couple of hours this morning in my garage, car was running well anyway (millers diesel sport in last weeks fill up made a diff too), but always change oil etc on new motor. So, new air, fuel n oil filters & oil.
After reading on here, i also fit a bypass replacing the egr valve (not as dirty as some ive seen on here but still fairly gacked up) and replaced the crankcase breather (was a fair bit of oil around top of it- do they spit a lot out when theyre blocked/past it?)
As i said, car was running fine anyway but WOW what a difference.
Idle seems to have lifted just above the point where it was causing the car to judder/rattle.
Less revs needed and much smoother set-off.
Throttle much 'lighter' and more responsive.
Maybe imagining things but seems better acceleration too, right thru the revs.
All in all, well chuffed. So chuffed I also washed it, cleaned it, polished it, waxed it and did me own first mod on it!! Simple but effective 1 - blacked the chrome kidney grill rings.
If all goes to plan expect plenty of annoyingly simple q's off me in the future
Im thinking of lowered springs, new dampers, maybe wheel spacers, black remaining chrome trims out, tune / remap n new wheels (previous owner took off the oem 18"n replaced with 16s!!) seen sum niiiice AC Schnitzer style tho, what ya reckon in the pic?
Sorry bout poor pics didnt realise it was getting dark!!
It'll all have to wait tho, trip to the Highlands soon, cant wait...1st time over Bealach-Na-Ba (highest n best mountain pass road in UK-google it) in a RWD!!
