    Hi

its been 20 years since i had a bmw, last ones were company cars ( 520i )and after sitting down with my partner and deciding what to have I chose a 328i coupe

I drive a transit daily and we both drive classic cars mines more of a project lately ( mk 2 escort ) hers is her daily driver ( mk 1 escort ) after losing our family bus we decided to get a different type of car as the kids are that bit older now and dont join us much anymore. My partner suffers from hyper mobility so the escort is getting harder for her to use so we will see how she gets on with the bmw. picked it up today not new but very good condition for its year ( 1995 ) have been finding every excuse i can today to take it out only 1 fault as of yet a brake circuit fault which i hope is something to do with the spoiler brake light not working or as i have read the switch will find out tomorrow.

so thanks for the tips and ideas i have read so far through the forum and to hopefully many miles in the new car

    Hi mate,

Similar story here, bought a '95 328 Coupe and a '94 325 for my wife.
Prior to that she drove a Kadett Coupe for 15 years and I my Manta.

Might be worth having a look at some of the Manta forums. Modified Corse electric power steering is turning up on Mantas and Kadetts and might help if it's the weight of the steering making the Escort a handful for your wife.

I thought about the corsa power steering conversion for her but i think its the general drive of the car now, plan is garage the car for the winter and as tax is free she can use it when she feels better through the summer
