    *Semi True

    Guys,

Thought i would start a build thread of my first ever drift car. I already own an R32 GTR and have been a big fan of the drift scene for ages. I contemplated going down the S body route but decided against it and to test myself with an under-powered car to improve my skill as a driver.
Thankfully my brother in law had a E36 325i sitting in his driveway.

The car was a B3 replica and in its day was pretty sweet. Unfortunately 3 years being sat and not driven had taken its toll. The front tyres were shot, the rear arches have started to rust and bits of paint are peeling of on the side skirts and window trim (but who cares about body work). It died a few times on the drive home due to the battery having not been used and the accelerator got jammed a few times causing it to run to redline.

How it looked when i first picked it up

Next up on the list was

    Welded Diff
    E34 BBS wheels
    Ebay Coilovers
    Front spacers
    Rack Spacers
E36 M3 Top Mounts on the front reversed
E46 M3 Top Mounts on the rear
    Z3 Top Mount Reinforcement Plates
Subframe Chassis Reinforcement plates welded in
    Bigger Rad
Extra Fan infront of Rad controlled by dash mounted switch
    Radiator Protection Bar
    New Discs and Pads
    Cobra Monaco Pro Bucket Seats
    Luke Harnesses
    Pretty Much Stripped Out
    Fully Polybushed
    Decat and Centre Box Removed
    New Centre Bearing
    End Tuning ECU Chip
    New Spark Plugs
    Oil Change
    Steel Impellered Water Pump
    New Thermostat Housing

All work carried out by Garage-D and K.B Autos

    Things to come are:-

    Hydro Handbrake
    Mabe some more stripping
    Potential Turbo Conversion

Some more pics of how it looks now

Interior has changed over the last few days with the Hydro being fitted, pics to follow:-

    And the car in action:-

I have been having a few issues with idle (ICV possibly?), the Hydro is now fitted.

    thats some nice drifting man
thats a good spec to have too but i noticed youre missing the convertible X-brace, if you havent already fitted it then it will be a good addition to stiffen up the front end

Disco cheers for that, never got round to getting a X brace.

Theres a number of things that i need to get around to doing.

I've got Seans SLR Steering Angle Kit coming from the states this week.

The engine is also getting turbo'd

I'm toying with the idea of going with stupid wide rims as well.

I've got a group buy going on Driftworks for a roll cage so that should help stiffen things up massively. Hopefully can extend it out to Bimmerforums if one of the mods can point me in the right direction?

cheers ronnie, i've been posting on .com and didnt realise there was a seperate.co.uk LOL.

Also who would i need to speak to about a Group Buy for Roll Cages. I've managed to negotiate one with Nickson Motorsport for the Driftworks guys and its been extended out to E36coupe.com would be good to get the BFUK guys on board.

ah, welcome! seen you at pod pretty much everydrift day i go to and you do drive hard lol. i would say swap the rear diff, shafts and rear half of prop from a 318 mate, the ratios are so much better and it anable easy 3rd on the long left hander, without it bogging. im also going for the turbo conversion next year so would be good to have two boosted bimmers chasing down the jdm bumboys next season at pod lol

tommy thats the whole reason im doing it. If i miss the jap fix i just jump in the R32

the reason i haven't put a 318 diff in is because its still a road car and i want to maintain driveability on motorways. With the turbo conversion third gear will be easy

Are you going up on Saturday?

yes dude ill be there on the 3rd no point in asking you because you really whore that track lol. to be honest mate on the normal driving isnt bad, maybe a tad better with a 1.8 in. its like the torque is instant! 5th gear,25 mph put foot down and it picks up like your in second. but anything over 100mph and it does get a bit droany/thirsty lol
