Hi I am new to this site, bought my BMW 320D ES 53 plate 6 months ago, it broke down 2 days ago. The problem the swirl flap on the inlet manifold collapsed, got sucked into the engine and wrote it off. £5,000 just for the new engine itself, not 2 mention the labour costs I have already got and the labour to put the new engine in. Apparently BMW are aware of this problem, anyone else had this happen to them?. Out of pocket, big style!!! thought buying a BMW I was guaranteed a good car. :mad
This is a really common problem on the later BMW diesels, If i were you i would create merry hell and BMW may as a goodwill gesture agree to pay towards the repairs, I've heard of them doing it.
