    Hi All

Having owed a variety a cars...

Wolsley 16/60 (complete with starting handle)
    Vauxhall Cresta PB (2.6)
    Mk 1 Capri 3 Litre
    Vauxhall FE VX 4/90
    Mini Clubman
    Humber Sceptre MKII
    Granada MK 1's x 3 (2.0 and 3.0)
    Granada MK 11's x 3 (all 2.8/2.8i)
    Rover Vitesse 2.7
    Ford Escort (1.6)
    Vauxhall Cavaliers x 2(all 2.0)
    Vauxhall Carltons x 4 (all 2.0)
    Pontiac Superchief (5.7)
    Mercury Monterey (5.1)
    Vauxhall Senator 3.0
    Vauxhall Omegas 3.0 Elite & 2.0 DualFuel
    BMW E34 525i SE (current)

I finally ended up with a BMW. I've had it since Jan and to be honest its not a bad car (not a patch on the Senator though - my opinion - I'm not out to rattle cages). As it needs a fair bit of welding on the sills, and the gearbox is a bit iffy, I'm looking to replace her with another rear wheel drive barge. favoured options (not that atheir are many options in the rwd field oif that vintage) are Omega Elite (yes - I am serious), e39 528/540 or e38 728/540 - Hence I'm joining this board to tap the vast repository of knowledge, and hopefully put myself in a position where I may also usefully contribute at some time.

I'm one of those DIY maintenance people, and expect to be able to maintain the next vehicle. I'm okay with a spanner, although my weldings a bit dubious.

I drive about 18,000 miles a year - so will either buy a vehicle with an LPG conversion, or convert it myself. I have heard BMW's run well with LPG

    Thats it for now.

    Jim
