Hi folks, I thought - enough lurking, lets join.
Had a few BM's, my first was a green E34 525iSE. I had that for a couple of years.
Sold that and got an E36 M3 4 door in Avus blue - what a cracker.

Left the fold for a while to drive a Galaxy.

Have now made up for that mistake with my black E39 523.
Great to drive but a bitch to keep clean - will never buy black again!

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for you and I hope to answer a few as well.

Just changed the heater resistor (hedgehog) earlier this evening as the fan and heater were starting to play up. The one I took out was red hot!
    Easy 5 min job.

Welcome. I am trying hard to resist making a comment about selling an M3 for a Galaxy?

I have already told the wife that when we have kids I intend to keep the coupe. If not I'll be getting a 4 door M3.

I didn't sell the M3, I put it through a hedge and fence!

Got the insurance to pay for the Galaxy. M3 was a write off - not bad for a 5MPH crash. Towtruck did more damage pulling me out.

Err, I shouldn't really admit this but when I was young and stupid I parked a car in a field. To get to the field I travelled backwards down a bank, across a ditch and through a fence...

There was also another time following a front-wheel blow-out on the motorway that I ended up in a field again. As you said it's sickening listening to the noises the car makes as it's winched out!

That also reminds me of another friend. He let his girlfriend drive his brand new BMW and she forgot to put the handbrake on... It ended up in a lake. He was so honest he didn't put an insurance claim in as she wasn't insured on it...

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll try and post a shot of my car in a day or two - when it's washed! Been busy getting rid of all the junk in my garage. Took two trips to the tip this morning and there's still loads left.
