Hey folks, currently looking to buy my first bmw. I've been thinkin about a 335d as that seems to have some good performance but also good mpg. But Im sadly worrying myself at the thought of the turbos going, do they easily break? . Lets say i didn't go for a 335d, what 3 series would you go for? I've got a budget of around 10k, but i can push to 14k. Hopefully get bmw warranty too.

    Cheers for any help.

    Hi Kobi, Welcome to Bimmerforums.co.uk................

Might get more info if you post your quetsion in the general section as it may get overlooked here. From my understanding is that deisle turbo's are a fair bit more reliable nowadays but I would make sure I get a derv with a warranty cause they can be expensive cars to fix

    Hi

I believe a good 335d will be setting you back at least £18k, not £10k!

While I imagine that you'd be able to bring a good 335d saloon in at around the £14-15k mark, you might be a bit limited for choice. At closer to £10k a 330d is a more achievable target. You should be able to get a decent spec too, which is very important.

There are no massive issues with these engines, just make sure you get one with a FBMWSH and like you say warranty is handy

    Welcome
