Afternoon all! Another newby here just swinging by to say hello... I live near Hastings (South coast) but work near Coventry, so am regularly doing the M25/M40 commute. I have just purchased my first BMW (a nice little 320D Compact) after seeking advice from a number of seemingly experienced friends, who all pointed me towards a 320D to tick my boxes.

I currently do consultancy work developing race engines (speedway mostly), studied Motorsport Engineering at Cov Uni, and am a self-confessed bike nut and racer... Also dabble with electric vehicles and am currently developing a pretty cool drag bike which (we hope) will break the world record this year

Looking forward to my BMW experience

    Rob

Welcome to the Forum, I like Hastings, great town and a nice area. Rye, Battle, St Leonard's etc. I live in Essex but used to work in Bexhill years ago. That's a fair commute you've got there!

Yep, tell me about it! I work in the Cov area (and stay there in the week) but my routes are in Battle (near Hastings), so I'm usually bouncing around between the two on a regular basis

I used to occasionally drag a 40t Artic from Dover to Bexhill along the A259, that's an interesting road, specially the U turn and hill at Rye.

Got the all clear to drive again this morning, so took the newly-collected wagon out for a spin.... I was very impressed (although the bar, it has to be said, hasn't been set particularly high in light of the past few four-wheeled vehicles I have owned) and cannot wait to get under the bonnet on Saturday to give it a thorough service and going-through.
