    Hi Everyone,

    Today I bought a 1992 161k BMW 850i.

Lovely car but I need to fix a few things.

    -Batteries keep draining down.
-Squeak coming from passenger side rear suspension.
    -Computer display lines/corruption.
    -Headlights a bit dim/crap
    -Slight tappet/lifter sound

Does anyone know of any places for me to start looking/trouble shooting.

Im not afraid of DIY and have just finished rebuilding an essex v6 3.2L for my Reliant scimitar.

    Cheers

    Matt

well done on the purchase, send up a post in the 8 series section. loads on nutters in there will point you in the right direction. in the mean time...

Batteries keep draining down..... replace both batteries
Squeak coming from passenger side rear suspension. - could be broken spring, inspect.
Computer display lines/corruption - yep that all do that. there are companies to send it off to fix it. thread on that in the 8 section
Headlights a bit dim/crap - need a clean. the side lights are crap, solder the two contacts on the bulb together so that both filaments work together.
Slight tappet/lifter sound - follow procedue to reduce this, run car up to temp then hold at 3000 rpm for 20 seconds, repeat 3 times.
I once owned the greatest BMW ever.
