    Hello Forum
I have a 535d Touring fitted with Continental Sport Contact 3 245 45 R18 96Y SSR tyres. The tyres are coming up for replacement and I would like to fit Sport Contact 5 tyres as a replacement. The only tyres I can find in this size are 245 45 R18 100Y MOE SSR. These are Mercedes runflats that I understand have softer running characteristics and reduced deflated driving distance of 80km. Has anyone any experience of these tyres on their BMW.

The fact the retailer says for "Mercedes" is irrelevant. This just means mercedes fits those specific tyres to their cars from factory. If they are the same size as your old tyres then they will fit.

I replaced full set of Conti runflats last year, on the grounds the car was planted, didn't tramline or anything and they worked....

But for the last 15yrs or so have been a Michelin fan, to keep Contis against that was very much a vote of confidence :-)

What Conti tyres did you fit? I am still considering the Mercedes spec Conti Sport 5 in 245 45 r18 100Y. I have contacted Continental and they advise they will fit ok but Mercedes specify a more flexible side wall for improved ride comfort on the E class. The downside is the run flat distance is reduced from 150 km to 80km.

Continental Sportcontact 3E SSR - at the back 275/40 R18 99Y and front 245/45 R18, they're round. black, and for me, work :-)

That fooled the cats, thought they were being fed, why's he taking a picture of his wheel?
