hi to all whos reading this thread.

I think im the newest in here so far.
I ma jump straight at my issue with the car.

    I recently bought a BMW e46 320d year 2001.
When i tested i noticed it has no enough power but since the price was good i decided to take it and fix it after.
I checked it and it says this fault code 42. dde control module (Eeprom and configuration).
I cleaned the EGR the map sensor still no change.
The simptoms are: it has not enough power and the car its a lil smokey. U can smell the smoke when on idle, and when u pressing the pedal it has a lil black smoke.
I feel like when in cold days it has more power.
Can anyone give me some advice or help as i desperately need to fix. i like it and i wanna keep it.

    thank you in advance.

    I live in Albania.

It looks like it is a problem with the software inside the ECU, or maybe a component inside has a problem.
I would try getting it reprogrammed at a BMW dealer, or try a new ECU (with EWS immobiliser and key chip)

Hello, it's very unlikely you'll write it but I have exactly the same problem. Could you please tell me how you solved it?? My car shows the same problem except I am suspicious of the vp44 pump. My car starts just fine. But doesn't have power before turbo in any gear
    Thanks
