    Hi Guys,

New to the forums. Just bought my first BMW, 2008 320d M Sport Coupe Manual

Just awaiting for my Private plate to come through. Then I will hopefully pick up my new baby just before the new year.

I probably havent searched the forums properly. I have a quick question about folding mirrors. I have a quick glance over the car and saw no options for folding mirrors. I asked the sales man and he said the mirrors did not fold in.

My old Mercedes was 7 years old and it had folding mirrors. Is this standard that the BMW's not to have folding mirrors.

Any advice you guys have would be great

    Monty

Yea will definitely get some pictures up when I get the car next week (fingers crossed).

I've read on some of the other posts on this forum that you may be able to visit BMW and they will programme it into the key? Is it possible on my car? or do I just have to take it there and find out?

The folding mirrors are an option.
There will be a small round button next to the mirror controls if it has been specified.
If you have the folding option, then the folding can be programmed in
2013, Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, PDK, Sports Exhaust, Chrono, etc, etc

    Hi OP

yeh folding mirrors are optional extras same as every little thing on BMW's
there are 2 different types of folding mirror,
    1. standard folding mirrors - £175 + VAT
    2 folding & dimming mirrors - £265 + VAT

next you will be saying that the mirrors dont close when you lock the car (thats if you have the folding mirrors and compare it with a merc)

Well if you have folding mirrors you can have BMW reprogram the setting for you so you can close mirrors from your key however this does come at an expense of £162.50 + VAT on top of the folding mirror option

however if you have the folding mirrors i would suggest you try getting the dealers to do it for you for free, i got mine done for free.
they might say thats not possible, just tell them your friend got it done and it is possible.

punch line: everything on BMW's is optional extra cause the basic machine is extrodinary already!

you will love your car, just wait till you get behind the wheel !!

Pro Nav with Telematrics, Harman Kardon, Comfort Access, Adaptive lights,
Heated seats, Auto Heaters on Timer, Folding Dimming Mirrors (with remote folding)
and every box that i could tick to say it is FULL LOADED

ou there a big debate about that on here somewhere. In general I think you'll have to experiment yourself and find out if the premium fuel works for you.

Some thinlk there is both an increase in power and mpg
Some say only an increase in mpg
Some say only an increase in power
Some say its all in the head and no increase in either
But I 'think' all agree that the Vpower and BP ultimate are better for the engine

I personally used to run my e46 on bp ultimate at one point in time and definitely noticed a bit more kick out the engine. Never really thought to calculate the mpg as it was only the extra kick i was really after. I'm gonna experiment with my e93 now to see if it give more kick and mpg before i decide whether to run on it or not.
