    Hi,

I have just signed up to this forum following a chat with a friendly remapper!

I have been a long time member of another forum but quite like this site as it seems to be more UK focused!

Anyway, I have what I class as a superb all round great car which really puts a smile on my face when I drive it!

    Darron.

Welcome, that's quite a high spec 535d. I wish the original owner of mine had specified Logic 7, then I wouldn't be looking for ways to upgrade it now!

Thanks! The basic spec 535d was fine for me EXCEPT I wanted memory seats (I hate getting the seat back when others sit in my car!) and it took a lot of searching!

I am not that impressed with the Logic 7 system. its good, just not great! I think I read once that the pre LCI logic 7 was fantastic but the post LCI wasn't as good as BMW released the 'individual' system. I just wish the top end was there when listening to my music. Unfortunately I have not yet seen an upgrade I am happy with at a sensible price.

I also looked for quite a while for a high spec E61 535d.

I fancied the memory seats having had them on my previous Z4 but as I'm the only one that drives it for 99% of the time I gave them a miss in the end. I got everything else I wanted (at the time) but with the benefit of hind sight might have looked a bit longer for one with a higher quality sound system. The trouble was, good ones seemed to sell very quickly and were always miles away!

Tell me about it! I had a 150 mile trip to see mine (thankfully I was working nearby), and to collect it! (which was full of other problems - but that is another story!)

    Sport Automatic Transmission.

Its a normal Auto with the D/S lever but also has the paddles on the steering wheel for gear changes if you want, and a sport button which changes the steering speed(I think), Brakes and throttle response... and halves the gear change time!

It was one of those 'yea... whatever' options when I chose the car but when I use it I absolutely love the change in car it brings and would recommend it on any new future purchases!

It works well on this diesel and imagine it must be awesome on a powerful high revving petrol!
