    Hi everyone,

I'm Will and yesterday picked up a 330d MSport Tourer

Overall it seems fantastic, but there were a few things I picked up on driving it home - just wondered if you guys could share your experience with me on these things...

    1) When the car is in gear and you lift the clutch, whether it is on pull away or when the car is moving and you're going through the gears, there is a 'clunk' from the rear of the car. It seems to be when the biting point on the clutch is met. I'm guessing its going to be something to do with the diff/prop whether it be the donut or bushes. Any ideas?

    2) The car seems to feel a little unsettled, like it doesn't feel firmly planted, the steering wheel needs to be held slightly off centre when going in a straight line. Initial thoughts are tracking etc. but just wondered if it would tie in with the clunk I mentioned above?

    3) The brakes seem slightly warped, they drone when braking from motorway speeds and there is a vibration through the steering wheel - are there any particular 'favoured' packages for replacing? Be it good priced standard stuff or aftermarket?

    Thanks for your time guys!

    Will

Hi Big Will, I'll try and answer some of your questions ...........

    1) Suggest you get it up on a ramp as you're possibly correct on all your theories.

    2) Tyre choice, condition and tyre pressure can make the steering feel vague.
Also worn RCABs (Rear Control Arm Bushes) are a well documented known issue on the E46 (£60),
if you're unlucky the Control Arm Ball Joints could be also worn (£300 for MTechII suspension as full arm is required)
again get these components checked and replace where necessary then you'll need a full 4 wheel alignment (£100)
try www.alignmycar.co.uk for the nearest centre equipped with a Hunter Alignment machine.

    3) Everyone seems to have their favorites but I opted for Pagid discs, Pagid handbrake shoes and Textar pads from our forum vendor CRN,
they were cheaper than ECP and delivered within 24hrs.
