    Hi all,

just a line to say hello.

Recently sold my E39 540 saloon and bought a 530D touring for practical reasons. It's got 185K on the clock but drives really well - Paid £2k for it and im very happy. Jeez what a difference MPG is compared to the 540

Anyhow, no major plans just yet; have bought a sports steering wheel to replace the bus one and will be looking for some angle eyes in the near future.

I'm on the look out for some 18" wheels if you have or know of any.

Paintwork needs some correction here and there and after mopping the bonnet i think it's gonna need a blow over :(

I'm keen to learn how to check and clean all the turbo breathing equip after reading about clogged filters - advice welcomed.

Home is near Maidenhead in Berks.

    Cheers
    Darryl

    Hello Darryl.
Sounds like a bargain to me mate. So how much difference is there between the diesel and the 540?

Hi chap, the first thing you notice is the loss of the 540 take-off! The V8 can spring into life really quickly whereas the 530D needs a little time to whir up. But in fairness the diesel is great performance for the fuel it uses - to go from 18/19 to 35mpg is life changing.

Also, the touring is a great bit of kit. Comfort, space, performance - i'm one happy bunny!
