    Hi all.

At long last I am the proud owner of a BMW and now wondering why I left it this long, everytime I drive this car I cant help but grin from ear to ear, Its an honour to be amongst you all.

I have been looking for an E39 for some time and came across this one which I fell in love with which is not recommended for buying a car as it can certainly cloud your judgement. So off I went from Oldham to the south, then there she was.
I did the checks and found plenty of problems. Nothing to bad on the engine, no knocks bangs or rattles just a bit tappety. Drove very smooth above 2 revs just realy lumpy below. There was a huge lack of power, the owner said "it wasnt a fast car" which I beg to differ, it should be a dam site quicker than that, I noticed it had a huge aftermarket air filter which has now been changed back to stock and it now goes like it should do. Sound system was completly wired up wrong, it sounded realy bad but not blown, even the amps were still factory set.

    So I weighed it up,
Pros- A stunning car with thousands spent on it which includes a custom paint job which is blue and purple pearl (blurple, so my mates say), wheels, kit, trims, adjustable ride height suspension, stainless manifold/downpipes and m5 exhaust system, m5 discs calipers and servo, sound system including tv headrests and game cube, even down to glossy black stuff (?) around windows, m5 roof linning, steering wheel and even a m5 manual gear knob which lights up although its an auto. Wasnt many cars this good looking around this price range.
Cons- Needs a good bit of tlc, time 'n' effort and a bit of cash throwing at it.

Sometimes in life you have to take a chance and just go for it so i snapped it up there and then.

Aready started and finished some jobs and finding all the relevant posts realy helpful so still ticking off the problems on the list till I get stuck.

    Things done-
full interior stripped out, new dvd player, full system re-wire, tv headrests fixed, then all put back together.
    Air intake made stock
    2 rear tyres
raised ride height (bah hate speed bumps)
    service
    battery
    good valet
    plus lots of small problems
    Things to do- lots

Your comments and thoughts will be realy apprieciated now and into the future.

Although I have fully read all the rules to posting I am new to using forums so please bare with me.

    Thanks to all
